Wall of bones: Workers restore Paris Catacombs

In a maze of gloomy tunnels under the streets of Paris, a team of technicians and artisans are working to restore a vast wall of skulls and other assorted human bones that make up part of the famed Paris Catacombs. The walls of bones, known as hagues, comprise the remains of thousands of individuals but have deteriorated over time. Restoring them is a painstaking and delicate task.
