French parents want to take TikTok to court following daughter's suicide
The parents of Marie, a 15-year-old French teenager, have pressed charges against TikTok after their daughter committed suicide in 2021. They believe that by sharing a flow of videos about suicide to Marie, who suffered from low self-esteem, the platform pushed her to take her own life.
