The most commonly used brake discs on commuter vehicles are flat discs. They offer a reasonable amount of surface area for the pads to do their thing and are often fitted on small hatchbacks. Although flat discs allow for excellent braking power to take place they are not the best at heat dissipation and prolonged braking can cause brake fade and even warping.
