A cold air intake is designed to pull in air from outside the engine bay, where it’s cooler and denser. Cooler air has more oxygen, which helps the engine burn fuel more efficiently and thus generate more power. Cold air intakes usually have longer tubing to move the filter away from the heat of the engine and supply cooler air in the process. These popular performance air intake systems offer a noticeable boost in performance, but correct filter placement is crucial here.
