مع بدأ إرتفاع درجات الحرارة عادة في العالم يبدأ الترويج الدعائي الضخم للمشروبات الغازية بطريقة ذكية على عقل المستهلك وبشكل مدروس ويشرف على مثل هذه الدراسات باحثين لربط العطش مباشرة بالمشروب الغازي وتدفع ملايين الدولارات إلى نجوم بارزين لإستقطاب عقل وقلب المستهلك ولكن ..
نشرت جمعية القلب الأمريكية في مجلة Circulation وإستناداً إلى ٦٠٠٠ مشارك بإن شرب زجاجة أو أكثر .

للأسف خطر هذه المشروبات لا يقل عن ما سبق ذكره حيث أشارت دراسة أخرى نشرت بإن هذه المشروبات مرتبطة بمتلازمة الأمراض الإستقلابية وبمرض السكري نوع ٢.
أضف إلى ذلك إنها تحتوي إلى سعرات حرارية أقل ولكن المحليات الصناعية والتي ينتج عن إستقلابها في الجسم فينيل آلانين ، حمض الاسبارتيك وميثانول فتزيد من نسبة الفورمالدهايد في الدم وبالتالي تؤثر على القوى العصبية في الدماغ وتسبب ضعفاً في الذاكرة والصداع المزمن والإرهاق العام وذلك لإن هذه المحليات تعطل مستقبلات السكر في الدماغ ولكن الإنسولين سيفرز بزيادة ويقوم بتخزين السكر في الجسم إلى دهون . وبذلك إعلانات اللايت وبدون سكر ( زيرو ) هي خدعة تجارية مبرمجة .
